Max and Paige // Edmonton LDS Wedding Photographer

Paige and Max were married on a beautiful June day in the Edmonton LDS Temple. Paige was seriously the most chill bride, not to mention gorgeous. It was great to hang out with her in the morning and capture her getting ready. At one point it was just me and her, and she went around the room cleaning the hotel room and helped me with the dress shots. Later that day, when she was talking to her bridesmaids she asked if they liked the present she left them. They looked a little confused and she said, “I cleaned the hotel room!”  Her bridesmaids laughed and said they thought the hotel staff had cleaned it. So funny! I was also able to drive Paige to the ceremony. Not going to lie, I kept telling myself not to crash! Not that I’m a bad driver, but what a responsibility driving a bride to go get married, I guess I know how Limo drivers feel now.;)

I loved their wedding colours, especially the bridesmaids’ dresses, my favourite colour! Paige did an awesome job of decorating, everything was so beautiful! One of my favourite parts was the cake bar. Cake is one my biggest weaknesses. I had red velvet of course, and it was delish! Another one of my favourite moments was when Max sang to Paige at the reception. It was so romantic! Thanks you two for having me at your wedding! Also a big thanks to Nikole Bordato for Second shooting!

Haha, Paige and Max’s fake smiles. They were probably thinking “for the love of all that is good and pleasant, will people stop going across the bridge so we can take a picture?!” Cause I know I was thinking those words! Busy day at Whitemud Park!

Rachel & Tyler

What a wonderful day! Rachel and Tyler are one of those couples that are easy to photograph because they so easy going. They are also so kind hearted! Rachel’s dress was so beautiful, so perfect on her, one of my favourite dresses! I loved the set-up of their wedding day, a nice change of pace for me. Instead of having pictures before the reception, we took them after. They had a nice causal afternoon reception with hors d’oeuvres, lots of mingling with guests and some heartfelt speeches. One of my favourite moments was during their vows when Rachel promised to never make Tyler cut his hair or shave. True love! Thank you so much for letting me document your day! Also a big thanks to Lindsay Hood for being my second shooter!

So I decided to update my photo in my about me section (click on the tiny photo of me on the menu bar). My old photo was me without my glasses. But I ALWAYS wear glasses when I am shooting a wedding. I just can’t wear contacts for more than a few hours. I wanted to represent what I usually look like, so I had Scott (my husband) take a new photo of me. I have only recently felt pretty wearing my glasses. I have always equated me wearing glasses with me being un-attractive (I don’t feel that way about other people wearing glasses, just me). If you scroll down you can understand why I think this. I have been wearing glasses since grade four. When I was a teenager I finally saved up my babysitting money and bought a pair of contacts the summer before grade ten. I thought for sure once I got my contacts  that boys would finally pay attention to me. Yeah… I was wrong. Oh well, I grew up in a village of 300 people so it was slim pickings. (no offense to any of my guy class mates who are most likely not reading this!) Since grade 10 I almost never wore my glasses. I was sure they made me un-attractive. In fact, Scott didn’t see me wear them until we were engaged. But I’ve done a total turn-around and I LOVE wearing glasses. They are like an awseome accsessory which hides my dark circles after being up with the baby at night! You can count on me never getting laser eye surgery because I really love them that much. Also Scott told me he could smell burning eyeballs when he got his done. Um… no thanks! Oh, and If I ever have a few thousand dollars hanging around you can be sure I’ll be spending it on camera equipment … or a sweet trip, not surgery!

Me on the right as a cute eight year old before my giant glasses ruined my sweet little face. My first pair of glasses were so classic. Which kid in 1994 didn’t have these sweet frames?

Me on the left in grade 9 before my ultimate makeover. Then me on the right after my contacts in grade eleven. You better believe boys were lined up around the block to date this hot babe in the monkey shirt! What in the name of all that is good and happy is going on with my hair? The 90′s were so awesome!

Happy Anniversary!

I photographed Lisa and Davin’s awesome wedding last May. These two are one of my favorite couples! So I was thrilled when Lisa contacted me about doing an anniversary shoot. I loved how their cute little dog, Marly, kept sneaking into the background, so I had to include one.;) Thanks for letting me take your photos again! P.S. Davin is also a photographer and Lisa has a cute blog you should check out!

Baby Nellie

I just wanted to post a little about our new baby. I can’t believe she has been with us for 6 weeks already.  Nellie Lynn Rice (named after Two of her great grandmothers) was born in April. She came quickly into the world (born in our home, hippie!) weighing 8 pounds 2 oz. We cannot get enough of her and her giant bright eyes and dimples.

Baby Nellie at four days old…

…and Baby Nellie again at four weeks old. They change so fast!

Andraea - Chelsey, she’s beautiful! And she looks so similar to Clark as a baby, I think. Maybe i’m just crazy though =P

Hooray for home-births! I’m guessing you had a midwife then?

What a lucky little one she is to have three big brothers ;)
