Landscapes

I have really been drawn to landscape photography this year. The world around me, In Edmonton and Alberta has so much beauty. I have been trying to better my photography skills and taking photos of subjects I’m not used to, like landscapes.

These first black and whites were taken just outside my home village of Rosemary Alberta. It’s located an hour and a half south east of Calgary. It’s flat and the big expanse is wonderful. I love southern Alberta.

These next two were taken on a date night with my husband. We went on a walk  in the riverbed area and found a great location for capturing the sunset, with west Edmonton village apartments in the background.

Southern Alberta Storm

While we were in Southern Alberta for July 1st, at my parents house, there was a magnificent storm. Luckily, I had a pair of newlyweds handy (My brother and his new wife) to be my models.

Lara & Adam

Lara and Adam were married in early May, when the snow had all melted and the spring mud was all dried up. But the trees were still bare and leafless. There is something still beautiful about the bare trees though and I think it shows in their photos which were taken at Nellie McClung Park. They were married and celebrated their reception at the old timers cabin. The dancing at this wedding off the hook, so great! Adam and Lara’s love really shines through in these photos and they are so sweet together. Thanks for having me at your wedding.

Bethany & Merrill // Edmonton LDS Wedding Photographer

December 27th 2013 was both freezing and beautiful. There is something special about winter weddings, they have an intimate, cozy and “magical” feeling about them. Don’t judge me for being corny and using the word magical. Bethany and Merrill were married in the Edmonton LDS Temple. Following the ceremony and pictures, they had a cozy family dinner at Fort Edmonton Park in the old fort building, with two big fire places going. It was a wonderful day and you can tell how much they love each other. Thanks for letting me be a part of your day!
